We met with Skechers Golf Rick Higgins at the PGA Show in Orlando to find out about their story and how they were moving into golf.
He was excited about the range of shoes the company were bringing to the market in 2015 and that collection is now here, headlined by the Skechers Go Golf Pro, as worn by Skechers Global Ambassador Matt Kuchar.
Kuchar has been key to helping Skechers move into the golf market giving insight and feedback to the fit, aesthetics and function required for a successful golf shoe.
Skechers Go Golf Pro
The flagship Go Golf Pro is Skechers most advanced shoe, designed in a classic style with a waterproof leather upper and a spiked sole.
A comfort traction outsole gives you all the grip you require on the course as well as the stability to support a tour level athletic golf swing.
Comfort, the calling card of all of Skeckers' recreational shoes, comes from the company's Resalyte midsole cushioning, a layer that ensures your feet do not feel fatigue during the round.
Skechers Go Golf Tour
The Go Golf Tour is a more modern take on the golf shoe and uses Skechers' technology to create a frame around the foot with no seams for maximum comfort.
The Go Golf Tour features a waterproof, lightweight mesh upper that is only 280g, constructed to give the support required during the swing without the extra weight that would add to fatigue.
The shoe has a low drop design that keeps your feet closer to the ground in a neutral position, which Skechers says promotes a better posture at address to benefit your game.
A spikeless sole, featuring Go Impulse Sensor traction control, keeps you secure whilst also giving the golfer feedback through the sole of the shoe.
Skechers Go Walk 2 Lynx
The Go Walk 2 Lynx completes the new men's shoes in the range and as the name suggests takes the technology from Skechers' popular Go Walk performance range to the golf course.
The shoe combines lightweight athletic materials, such as Skechers advanced Goga Mat Technology insole, to make it the perfect shoe for all day comfort on the course.
The entire shoe weighs just 280g whilst being fully waterproof thanks to a durable Leathertex upper, with a Resagrip outsole providing grip and stability.
Skechers Go Golf Ladies Range
Skechers leisure shoes are extremely popular with women and they are supporting their move into the ladies market with the appointment of a new brand ambassador, Spanish LPGA Pro Belen Mozo. She is helping the company develop her own custom shoe, the Go Golf Blade, that will be released later in the year.
Until then the ladies collection is led by the Go Golf Lynx that features all the same technology as in the Men's Go Walk 2 Lynx, providing athletic performance and comfort.
