Less than a week after launching their Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver to the public, Nike are celebrating two professional victories with the new model.

Rory McIlroy and Charl Schwartzel both had 8.5 degree versions of the new driver in play as they won in Australia and South Africa yesterday. Featuring Nike's new Flybrace Technology, the Covert 2.0 Tour driver is more stable, faster and up to 6 yards longer than the original version.

Rory McIlroy Australia Open

McIlroy made most of the headlines yesterday, coming from behind to beat Adam Scott for his first win in over a year. A Sunday-best 66 saw McIlroy vault past Adam Scott and take home his first victory since the 2012 DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

After a tough 2013 season, McIlroy decided to put the new VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver in play alongside a new RZN Black ball. The new set-up saw him register top-10 finishes in Korea, China and Dubai in recent weeks. McIlroy was quoted as saying this is the "the best driver and ball combination I’ve ever had in my career.”

Here's the rest of Rory's bag:

Driver: Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour (8.5 degree)

Fairway Wood: Nike VRS Covert Tour 3-Wood (14 degrees), Nike VR Pro 5-Wood (19 degree)

Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo (3 to 9)

Wedges: Nike VR Pro (46, 54 and 60 degrees)

Putter: Nike Method 006

Charl Schwartzel

As McIlroy was toasting his victory in Sydney, Schwartzel was putting the finishing touches to the defence of his Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in his native South Africa. He shot 68, 67, 68, 68 to win by four shots over fellow Nike athlete Richard Finch.

Schwartzel put together a complete performance throughout the week, finishing in top-5 in both driving distance, greens in regulation and putting. He averaged more than 306 yards off the tee with his new VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver.

Here's a look at Charl's full arsenal of equipment:
