PowaKaddy has announced the upgrade of its popular Freeway trolley range with further enhancements for the FW3, FW5, and FW7s models adopting the refreshing attitude of: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Slight design changes, technology improvements as well as improved battery life, without an increase in price. What’s not to like?
The trio of trolleys have undergone changes based on feedback from avid trolley users across the world. The new FW3 and FW5 now feature new digital screens, a digital power gauge and a battery fuel indicator. In recognition of these new intelligent handles on both the FW3 and FW5 models, PowaKaddy has re-branded the trolleys as the FW3i and FW5i.
After what PowaKaddy claims to have been an extremely successful year in which its sales increased by 28%, the headline model in the in the Freeway range, has also undergone some slight aesthetic changes. The FW7s introduces a new frame colour, soft touch handle trims, new graphics on the trolley’s frame and striking yellow trims on the front wheel to create an overall more premium look than its predecessor.
Appealing for many club golfers will be the three-year warranty that backs the FW7s. Whilst the new 3.5” full colour widescreen digital screen offers benefits less necessary like the ability to count the number of calories golfers burn during a round of golf. Impressive though this may seem, we presume that the prior with will be more appealing to the avid golfer.
With electric trolleys, the importance of the battery life is as important as anything. We all know that you can have the flashiest trolley in your club, but if the battery is weak, it’s utterly useless. Thankfully, it’s plain to see that PowaKaddy understand this. The Freeway range comes available in both 18 and 36 hole options with the PowaKaddy Lithium battery boasting an integrated Battery Management System that protects the life of the battery and provides what PowaKaddy claim to be up to five times longer lifespan than lead acid equivalents.

PowaKaddy FW3i Electric Trolley
The FW3i welcomes a new digital screen with power gauge and battery fuel indicator, powered by what Powakaddy claims to be a whisper-quiet 200W motor. An easy-to-use, ambidextrous soft T-bar grip allows golfers an extremely simple method of steering the trolley, whilst the straightforward On/Off button comes complete with a Power, Pause & Resume function that is displayed on the new digital screen.
The FW3i has an RRP of £449 with an 18 hole Lithium battery and £549.99 for the 36 hole version.
PowaKaddy FW5i Electric Trolley
The PowaKaddy FW5i comes with an all new full colour widescreen display, a digital power gauge, battery fuel indicator and an integrated USB charging port. Boasting a whisper quiet, 200-watt motor, the FW5i incorporates an Automatic Distance Function (ADF) feature that allows the trolley to be sent distances of 15, 30 and 45 yards.
The FW5i has an RRP of £549 with an 18 hole Lithium battery and £599.99 for the 36 hole version.
PowaKaddy FW7s
With a new frame colour, soft touch handle trims, graphics and front wheel with yellow trims, the FW7s is a stand-out design. This model is packed with technology and features a full colour 3.5” widescreen display, built-in calorie counter, distance measurement function and powerful, near silent 230W motor. Boasting a three-year warranty, the FW7s also offers an optional Electronic Braking System (EBS) model with three levels of progressive braking when going downhill.
The FW7s has an RRP of £639.99 with an 18 hole Lithium battery and £699.99 for the 36 hole version. The EBS model has an RRP of £699.99 with an 18 hole Lithium battery and £749.99 for the 36 hole version.
