Luxury clothing brand Peter Millar has become the latest to announce their new collection for the Spring and Summer, continuing the growing trend of developing golf garments that are suitable for use both on and off the course.
Maintaining their reputation for classical styles, the latest collection features a range of products from polo shirts to shorts, and debuts a number of new colour schemes in a modern interpretation which should appeal to a range of different golfers.
Mark Hilton, Managing Director of Peter Millar International, commented:
As a premium clothing brand, we are committed to delivering the best golf attire on the market and our new Spring Summer collection certainly showcases the best yet from Peter Millar. It’s testament to the quality and variety of product our designers continue to deliver year-on-year that our brand can be found in some of the most prestigious resorts and exclusive country clubs around the world.
Peter Millar Crown Crafted Collection
The Crown Crafted clothing, which is worn by Peter Millar’s PGA and European Tour players, including Bradnt Snedeker, is inspired by high-street fashions and contains a more athletic style than the brand has employed in the past, with ‘unique technical fabrications’ and ‘natural fibre compositions’.
Crown Crafted Ace Polo
This hybrid-knit construction offers four-way stretch and moisture-wicking properties whilst being styled in a tapered, modern fit across the torso and sleeve. It is completed by a two-button placket and classic button-down collar.
Crown Crafted Flat Front Trouser
Available in 5 different colour options this new trouser, also released as a short, is developed from a high-twist performance twill which features the same four-way stretch as many of the shirts, as well as enhanced water-resistance. This later model has a trimmer leg opening for trouser and a shorter rise for short and trouser, for increased comfort out on the course in a variety of conditions.
Peter Millar SS19 Polo Shirts
Jubilee Stripe Stretch Jersey
With 13 different colour choices, there should be a design to suit everyone here. The timeless design polo is lightweight, breathable, quick-drying and stretches four ways for maximum comfort on the course. It is also handy for those golf-trippers amongst you, as the fabric construction features easy-care so that it looks clean and fresh pretty much every time.
College Stripe Stretch Mesh
The College Stripe piqué polo is made from a premium polyester fabric and features ideal stretch for movement and comfort. This offers excellent breathability in warm weather and provides moisture-wicking, quick-dry, and odour control benefits both on and off the course.
Peter Millar SS19 Second Layers
Perth Skulls and Clubs Quarter Zip
Peter Millar’s most popular layering garment has received a makeover, with a skulls and clubs pattern that they say brings a ‘whole new luxury look’ to the course. It is constructed from a signature high-tech loop terry fabric that offers four-way stretch, two-yarn moisture-wicking for quick-drying and UPF 50+ sun protection.
Zephyr Light Full-Zip Vest
This is a new, eye-catching addition to Peter Millar’s Crown Sport range, and it is a full-zip performance vest that looks the part both on and off the course. It’s made from a polyester-spandex double-weave fabric that’s lightweight and offers four-way stretch for great mobility during the golf swing. The fabric is also highly wind-resistant, water-repellent and extremely breathable, making this a jacket that sounds appealing to wear in all weather conditions.
Peter Millar SS19 Trousers and Shorts
Salem High Drape Shorts
The Salem High Drape Performance Short is crafted from 5.6 oz. polyester woven twill. This style offers two-way mechanical stretch for ease of movement, moisture wicking, quick dry and easy care. Again, Peter Millar say this is designed visual refinement for easy wearing around town as well as the course.
EB66 5 Pocket Performance Trouser
The new performance EB66 trousers have the look of a casual trouser, with a lightweight stretch material that’s weighted more like a pair of chinos. They were first showcased by PGA Tour players Brandt Snedeker, Si Woo Kim, Chesson Hadley and Chez Reavie at the 2018 US Open.
This really is premium quality clothing but it will set you back a fair chunk of your hard earned cash. However, Peter Millar seem intent on cracking the UK golf market and have modernised their designs in recent years in an attempt to appeal to more than just the middle-aged American country club golfer.
Whether that happens remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that if you choose Peter Millar you are getting some of the highest quality gear available which can be used in situations both on and off the course.
