Attention golf purists, Mizuno have released a new blade iron! The Mizuno MP-4 irons are muscle-back, blade irons designed for players looking for the ultimate in control and workability, along with Mizuno's traditional, classic looks and feel.

“The MP-4 gives real shot-makers the ultimate contol over their ball flight – with the very purest feel and feedback possible. If you want to learn to become a truly great shotmaker, the MP-4 is the best teacher you can have”. Tetsuya Kanayama, Manager of Golf Club Development.

Mizuno MP-4 Irons

Uniquely, the MP-4’s final profile was created through a combination of CAD (Computer Aided Drawing) design and traditional Mizuno craftsmanship. Mizuno’s long standing team of master club grinders made minor adjustments by eye to every CAD generated clubhead through the set – before creating MP-4’s master forging moulds.

The MP-4 iron is forged from a single, mild carbon steel billet, giving them the enchanced feel that is expected from a Mizuno blade iron. The classic looks are completed with Mizuno's Double Nickel Mirror Chrome finish, giving them the shiny, sharp looks Mizuno are known for.

Mizuno MP-4 Iron Profiles

The design of the MP-4 irons is varied throughout the set thanks to Mizuno's Variable Muscle Thickness (VMT). The Pure Muscle Back design, or weight behind the face, is more prominent in the higher lofted, scoring clubs and reduces down to the longer, less lofted irons.

By adding more bulge in the shorter irons, the MP-4 irons maintain the shot and trajectory control demanded by the game's best players. On the other hand, the longer irons require a lower centre of gravity to produce a quick launch and steeper landing angle.

Varied Muscle Thickness

As with past Mizuno blade style irons (most recently, MP-69 and MP-68s), the MP-4s maintain a strong "Shotmaker's profile". The thin top-line, compact size and reduced offset offers a look preferred by better players and helps those players manipulate their ball flight.

From 8-iron to pitching wedge, the MP-4 irons have been made even more compact than past MP blade models.

Mizuno MP-4 9-iron

If you are a better player, but are perhaps intimidated by a blade style longer iron, Mizuno have designed the MP-4 iron to be specifically interchangable with the MP-H4 utility iron they launched in 2012. You can order your MP-4 set in a mixture with the long-iron replacement or simply replace a single longer iron.
