3 new colours. 3 new layers. 3 distinct performance benefits. 1 new grip. That is the message from Lamkin Grips about their new UTx line of grips.

Lamkin UTx Grips

The UTx design has been in development for more than two years and finally hit shops this month. It features three distinct layers blended together to produce a premium grip Lamkin say is designed to "optimize grip feel for enhanced shot-making capabilities and exceptional wet-weather performance."

Lamkin's CEO, Bob Lamkin, said:

As soon as I felt this grip, I knew it would be received with tremendous anticipation and excitement. It’s a perfect formula of proven grip materials, but blended in a unique way to provide a performance advantage that is immediately evident.

So what's new about the UTx?

The design centres around the Tri-Layer Technology. The first layer, the foundation of the grip, is a made from a softer, tacky ACE 3GEN material, designed to give the grips their comfortable feel. Atop the foundation is a moisture-wicking fabric weave that helps the grip perform better in wet weather. Lastly, the firm 3GEN outer layer has been engineered to limit torque and shot dispersion.

For those of you unfamiliar with 3GEN, it is a unique, proprietary rubber material. Lamkin say it offers the best vibration-dampening attributes and stops those off shots from stinging your hands at impact.

Lamkin grips are currently used by brands such as TaylorMade, Callaway, Cobra, Ping, Cleveland, Nike, Adams and Wilson Staff. They have also recently signed Brandt Snedeker, who will join Justin Rose and Keegan Bradley as their Tour brand ambassadors.
