When Maria Healy was looking for some stand-out trousers for her son to wear at a golf event she drew a blank. Not to be deterred, and driven by the can do attitude she inherited from her Dad, she decided she'd make them herself.

The result is Joseph Garratt, a new British fashion brand, named after Maria's father, whose first collection is aimed at boy golfers aged 7 to 12 and includes trousers, plus twos, jumpers, hats, and socks.

Centred around quality and an attention to detail, British design, and distinctive and authentic styling she feels that Joseph Garratt clothing offers what is currently missing in the junior golf market.

Details like adjustable waists and unfinished hems ensure that the young golfer will have room to grow in a Joseph Garratt garment and the use of high-technical fabric means the clothing provides performance, comfort and style on the golf course.

Maria knows what it is like to clothe a growing golfer and wants to ensure that people prepared to invest in quality pieces see a return in terms of both impact and value for money:

If I am buying a stand-out piece for my son, I want to feel the money I spend is worth the return I will get on it. That’s why we have built in growing room by adding adjustable waists and unfinished hems, so hopefully Joseph Garratt trousers will span two seasons, depending on the child of course.

The trousers stand out by avoiding the safe neutral or black and the attention seeking neon that seem to dominate current choices. Instead, Joseph Garratt has focused on an exclusively designed tartan and solid, bright colouring with a superior cut and stitching and a distinctive 'old school' British style.

This is most evident in the plus two's that will help confident and fashion conscious young players stand out from the crowd with the independent look of the serious golfer.

Also available are Joseph Garratt crew neck jumpers, made from 100% Australian merino wool, that feature a discreet logo embroidered tour-style on the upper sleeve.

The collection is topped off with a selection of socks and wooly hats, enabling parents to fully kit out their young male golfers in a distinctive, authentically British style.
