With a modern, smartphone-style screen, the PT4 is GolfBuddy's most-advanced GPS device to date, which they say will offers players "the finest golf GPS experience."

Designed to be easy to use and easy to carry, the PT4 has a new body which is over 40% slimmer than previous models. It also has a larger, higher resolution screen than prior Golfbuddy devices. with full access to GolfBuddy's worldwide course database of 37,000 courses.

GolfBuddy PT4

The high-resolution, LCD, 4-inch screen is now over 30% larger than the GolfBuddy World Platnium device and almost all GPS devices on the market. The screen has been upgraded from a pressure based touch screen to a capacitive touch screen. This provides users with direct contact to the content displayed as well as enabling taps and gestures to be even more responsive.

As for the functionality, the PT4 offers all the same, accurate yardages found on recent GolfBuddy devices. Yardages can be displayed to the front, middle and back of the green no matter where you are on the course.

Players can also drop their own "blue pin" on a hole to give them a lay-up point. The device will then show both the distance to this point and the distance from this point to the centre of the green. The pin will stay in the same place once dropped, so you can walk to your ball and plan your lay-up or chip out of the trees.

GolfBuddy PT4

GolfBuddy's Dynamic Green View gives players a detailed, grid-view of the green allowing them to alter the yardages based on exactly where the pin is located, no matter what your angle. So whether you in the trees or on another fairway, the yardarge you see is specific to your location, not simply the hole you are playing.

The device displays the width and depth of each green to give you the best possible idea of the shot you are facing.

GolfBuddy PT4 Green View

New for 2014, the PT4 now lets users track and keep score of up to four players rounds. Scorecards are preloaded along with the courses and the PT4 can keep score as well as tracking key stats throughout the round. These can be viewed on the device or on your computer via the GolfBuddy Manager program that can be downloaded to your computer.

GolfBuddy PT4

The features don't stop when you finish your round. Before packing away your PT4 into the free bag mount provided, players can store it in safe storage mode where the device is turned "face in" preventing it from getting scratched or banged. GolfBuddy also provide smooth, on-screen protectors.
