If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That is the approach FootJoy are taking to strengthening their position as the #1 shoe in golf. The company has announced upgrades to its existing "big four" models for the 2014 season.

“At FJ we are continually looking to the future and seeking inspiration from all walks of life whilst at the same time staying true to our golf heritage. Delivering the most technologically-advanced and fashion-forward golf footwear range in the game is synonymous with the FJ brand and no more is this evident than the latest iteration of our Big 4 styles,” commented Russell Lawes, Marketing Manager, FJ.

FootJoy FJ Icon

FootJoy's FJ Icon is the company's most premium shoe, created for elite Tour players and avid amateurs. It is worn by players such as Jason Dufner, Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Nicolas Colsaerts. Retailing at £200, the full grain leather design features calfskin detailing. For next season, FootJoy have created a series of new upper patterns along with a two new colour options shown here.

FootJoy DryJoy Tour

Like the Icon, the DryJoy Tour features a full grain leather upper design but with a TPU integrated EVA midsole. This model is geared towards providing stability and control and is worn by Steve Stricker, Louis Oosthuizen and Zach Johnson. Retailing at £135 from January 1st, it has a new pattern, seen left below, as well as new sizes and colours for the 2014 season. It is also available in FootJoy's no-lace BOA system (RRP £150), seen on the right.

FootJoy FJ Sport

Worn by Tour players such as Adam Scott, Bill Haas, Webb Simpson and Matteo Mannassero, the FJ Sport is designed to offer the more athletic golfer the best flexibility, comfort and fit. It features a mesh lining inside the shoe providing added comfort and breathability. For the 2014 season, FootJoy have designed a new streamline athletic upper pattern offered in a range of new colour combinations and it's yours for an RRP of £120, or £135 for the BOA..

FootJoy M:PROJECT

Based on the idea that minimal construction leads to maximum feel, the FootJoy M:PROJECT was first launched earlier this year. Since then it has been worn by players such as Hunter Mahan and Padraig Harrington. Designed to suit a "more dynamic golfer", the lightweight construction delivers a full range of motion along with a supple feel. With an RRP of £115, the M:PROJECT will be available in a host of new colours as well as a spikeless version, seen in white/red below, in 2014.

So there you have it, some new styles for 2014. But if you are the type of player that demands something new, fear not. FootJoy will have some new products coming your way early in the year. For now, their 2014 catalogue just says "Coming Soon".
