The Cleveland 588 Altitude irons, like the name suggests, are hybrid-irons designed to get the ball higher and further for players with slower swing speeds.

Much like the previous Cleveland HB3 irons, the progressive hybrid-iron set blends in size throughout the set to offer better playability and performance. Each club features a Full Hollow Construction that allowed Cleveland to move the weight of the clubs to position the centre of gravity 13% lower and 121% deeper than a typical game-improvement iron. This produces a better, easier launch for players with slower swing speeds looking for more distance and forgiveness.

To maintain feel and enhance ball speed, Cleveland have used a forged face on the 588 Altitude irons. Each club has a forged face to offer that soft forged feel in a game-improvement iron. The Altitude irons are further benefited by a bendable hosel that allows each irons to adjusted as much as 3 degrees upright or 2 degrees flat, to better suit different swing types.

Cleveland have launched the 588 Altitude irons along with 588 MT and TT models. Players can customise or mix-and-match their set to suit their game, perhaps favouring more compact, traditional shorter irons (TT) with more forgiving, higher launching long irons (Altitude or MT).
