Looking for something to replace your long irons that isn't a hybrid? That means you want an iron with the precision of a forged club, but with levels of forgiveness and playability expected from a cavity back?

Step forward the Callway Apex UT utility iron that is made to switch into your set to replace those hard to hit longer clubs. The Apex UT aims to give you the ideal combination of precision and versatility to hit the fairway from the tee of attack the pin from a long way out.

Callaway Apex UT Utility Irons

The Apex UT is very much an iron rather than a hybrid, with a traditional long iron shape. However that is where the comparison with traditional long irons stops.

Rather than being hard to hit, the Apex UT is packed with speed technology right across the face. A forged face cup design creates higher ball speeds for more distance over a greater area of the club. This maintains consistency whatever shot the player is hitting, which is important as the Apex UT is a club made to be hit in different situations.

A hollow body construction increases forgiveness, whilst the unique sole weighting lowers the centre of gravity to assist launch and make the Apex UT irons much easier to hit.

Feedback from the previous generation Callaway X Utility prototype revealed a tendency for a draw bias, so in this version Callaway have maintained a more neutral lateral centre of gravity CG placement for straighter shots whilst a slightly taller clubface aids shot versatility.

Despite these playability features, make no mistake, the Apex UT are serious clubs for better players. Forged from Callaway's premium 1020 carbon steel they have all the feel and feedback you would expect from a premium forged design.

Callaway Apex UT Utility Irons

Callaway have maintained the slim appearance and design of the longer utility iron, as opposed to a hybrid, to deliver the workability that better players still demand from their longer clubs.

They have also recognised the importance of the shaft in the performance of longer clubs. The Apex UT offers a KBS Tour-V steel or UST Recoil 680 F4 shaft as standard, plus two extra options in both steel and graphite at no extra charge.

The Apex UT comes in three models to allow for better distance gapping at the long end of your bag with the 2, 3 and 4 irons having lofts of 18°, 21° and 24° respectively.
