Bettinardi putters have a rich history.

Since Robert Bettinardi spotted the opportunity to take his C.N.C. computerised milling expertise into the world of golf in 1991 he hasn't looked back. He was soon inventing his own prototypes as well as milling putters for other companies and gained recognition as the inventor of the One Piece Milled Putters.

Like a lot of equipment hits, a big part of Bettanardi's success can be attributed to success on Tour. Unlike many rises though, Bettinardi's was dramatic. He attended his first Tour Event at Greensboro in 1999 with some of his designs and Swedish Pro Jesper Parnevik not only liked what he saw, but put one into play. Four rounds later with a tournament record of 23 under par, Bettinardi putters had their first Tour victory and the rest is history.

Working with the best players continues to be important to Bettinardi to this day and his latest eye catching collaboration is with American Matt Kuchar.

Bettinardi Kuchar Model 1 Putter

Kuchar is ranked amongst the worlds top putters thanks to his pioneering Bettinardi Arm Lock Kuchar Model 1 putter, with his stats showing he's holed 259 of 260 putts from 3 feet and in so far this year on the PGA Tour.

The Arm Lock model works best for right handers like Kuchar with the top of the grip placed two inches below the left forearm, and the right wrist hinged into the grip of the club, to give a stable stroke that avoids the use of the wrists and hands on shorter putts.

With the anchoring ban looming the arm lock method is considered to be a legal stroke so Bettinardi are adding to the Kuchar Model 1, a blade putter with 2.5 shaft offset, with the Kuchar Model 2, a halfmoon shaped centre shafted putter.

Due to the nature of the stroke, the Arm Lock putters have a 7° loft compared to the standard 3° loft, and the Kuchar Model 2 features no offset.

Finished in a Meridian Blue that gives a visually pleasing rainbow effect at address the Kuchar Model 2 is crafted from a single piece of high quality carbon steel.

Both of the Bettinardi Kuchar Model putters are available in Arm Lock and standard versions at lengths of 42 inches and 35 inches respectively. The longer putters weigh in at 400g whilst the standard versions are 350g.
