Every golf major is a great opportunity for the equipment manufacturers to showcase their wares to the world. In addition to the clubs in players' bags or the clothes on their backs, these tournaments often see special editions released that celebrate the Championship or that year's venue.

In the world of golf clothing, what the players wear each day is called "Scripting" by the manufacturers. Co-ordinated months in advance, these looks are available to fans to buy so brands are keen to let you know about it.

The 2016 U.S. Open being held at the historic Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh for a record 9th occasion is no exception. We've picked out the best of this year's themed gear as well as detailing what all the leading players will be wearing as they battle for the U.S Open.

Adidas U.S. Open Limited Edition Tour360 BOA Boost Golf Shoe

Pittsburgh is known as both the steel city and the city of bridges and both are celebrated in the U.S.Open Limited Edition Tour360 BOA Boost.

Its three famous bridges spanning the Allegheny River, known as the Three Sisters, are printed on the insoles together with the name of all 446 bridges that can be found in the Pittsburgh area.

These bridges are supported by Pittsburgh made steel, referenced with cable graphics on the saddle and bottom of the shoe as well as a bridge logged heel and the unique black and yellow colour scheme echoes the kit of the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team.

The limited edition Pittsburgh US Open Tour360 Boa Boost footwear is available online from 10th June at www.adidas.com/golf with an RRP of £159.99.

Titleist Limited Edition '68' Pro V1 & Pro V1x Golf Balls

Since the 1949 Championship Titleist has been the #1 ball at the U.S. Open and is celebrating this unprecedented achievement with a number of limited edition Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls with a '68' play number and unique anniversary packaging.

Titleist 2016 U.S.Open 68 Pro V1

Leading the ball count when the major championship was played at Oakmont in 1953, 1962, 1973, 1983, 1994 and 2007, Titleist balls have provided the distance, control and consistency demanded by one of the most difficult courses in the world, with its tight fairways, hard and slick greens, and famous Church Pews bunker. That trend will continue at this year's Championship with more players using a Pro V1 or Pro v1x than any other brand of ball.

These limited edition balls are available in selected Titleist accounts across the UK, so contact your local Titleist stockist or visit www.titleist.co.uk for more information.
