Golfalot Says: Thanks for the question. Choosing a golf ball is a very personal thing. Some spin more than others so it is important to know how much spin you tend to generate compared to the average. Hitting the ball high is not necessarily a bad thing as long as it is still going forward and not ballooning because of too much spin.

Certainly the 3 balls you have mentioned are all very good. We feel that the
Srixon Z Star is marginally firmer around the greens than the
Titleist Pro V1 and the
Callaway HEX Black Tour. The Callaway probably spins the most and is also the most stable in the wind, although the Titleist is not far behind. Touch and feel around and on the green are the key to low scores so I would take one of each to the putting green and base your decision on which one you like the feel of best for chipping and putting as they are all excellent in getting from tee to green.
