Sunderland’s new UV Sunwear range represents not only the company’s enduring commitment to technological advances but also the growing awareness of the threat that skin cancer, the UK’s second most common type of cancer, poses to golfers.
Male golfers are thought to be particularly at risk of becoming one of the 100,000 people who are diagnosed each year. With many people still ignorant or unconcerned by the dangers of exposure to the sun the UV range is aimed at both protecting and educating golfers.
The range features UV +50 short sleeved polo shirts in eight different colours and long sleeved polo shirts in four colours. Each of the shirts is made from the revolutionary Cocona fabric which is made utilising natural technologies derived from coconut shells and provide remarkable UV protection, evaporative cooling and odour management.
Cocona fabric’s protective properties are also made to last and will be refreshed during washing and drying unlike chemical treatments which can wear off.
