We hope you will have no problems playing Golfalot Tour. The game has been designed to run on a PC with minimum Internet Explorer 4 or Netscape 6 and Macromedia Flash 5. All of these are available to download online by going to the respective websites. If you have Internet Explorer 5, then this will have the correct version of Flash already installed.

If you are experiencing problems, check out the following scenarios and solutions first to see if your problem is covered. If your problem is not covered please contact Golfalot using the menu link and we will endeavour to help you out.

The Game Applet Does Not Load Properly

This could be due to one of the following reasons:

1. Your browser/PC is set to block pop-ups. The game applet loads in a pop-up window so you will need to reset your browser/PC to allow pop-ups.

2. If you are having problems loading the game, you may need to download the latest version of JRE (Java Runtime Environment) from www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

3. You could be accessing the internet from behind a firewall that prevents the Java game applet from being downloaded to your PC. If so, you will need to amend your firewall to allow the Java applet through or access the game from another computer.

4. Either your browser does not support Java, or the Java console is not activated. To activate it, go to the Internet Options section of your browser (or equivalent) and turn it on. You may also not have the latest version of Macromedia Flash to view the Java applet, so go to www.macromedia.com to download version 5 or higher.

If none of the above apply, please clear your browser cache and try logging on again. This is very simple. Go to your browser and select Tools > Internet Options > Delete Temporary Internet Files. Then close your browser, re-open it and try to log on to the game again.

I Am Using a Mac And The Game Applet Does Not Load Properly

There is a problem with Mac OS9 and below with Java that is endemic in the system. The Java download MRJ 2.2.5 available from www.apple.com is the recommended fix, but we have yet to find solid proof that it works. If you are a Mac user then let us know of any solution. Until then we are sorry but until the operating system is upgraded you will experience this problem. You could try borrowing someone else's PC....

The Power Meter or Putting Goes Too Fast When I Make a Shot

When you download the game applet, it checks your computer first to set the speed it should run at. If you open or close other applications on your computer after opening the game applet, then this will affect the speed at which the game runs. The solution is to log out, close your browser window and disconnect from the internet. Then reconnect and log in again to play the game as normal. As a general point, if you have other applications open it may speed up or slow down the game controls so we recommend playing Golfalot Tour with only the browser window running.

The Tour Chat Facility Stopped Working When Playing A World Matchplay Game

If this occurs, close the window with the game in and click the reconnect button to relaunch the game.
