Golf Betting Tips

Golfalot's renowned golf betting tips are posted here by Tuesday every week. Our tips use a point system to rate the strength of a tip. A 1 point bet means placing your usual stake, which in our case is £10. Less than 1 point and you should be more cautious and greater than one point and the tip is hot!

EUROPEAN TOUR: KLM DUTCH OPEN

After a five year absence the KLM Open returns to the 6,900 yard long, par 70 Hilversumsche track. Although short the course is tight with trees rough, and heather in abundance and , with its small and firm greens, it demands accuracy with approach shots. A good wedge/putting game are the keys to success here.

OUTRIGHT: MATTEO MANNASSERO 1 pt win and place 40/1

Mannassero has been rightly touted as the “next big thing” in European golf. He has good driving accuracy and GIR stats so should be comfortable here despite the fact that it is his maiden visit. Furthermore he has few peers here in terms of his wedge game and putting so, on the back of an impressive top five finish at Crans last week, he looks like a value bet at these odds.

OUTRIGHT: MARTEN LAFEBER 1 pt win and place 55/1

Lafeber seems to be turning his poor early season form around in recent weeks with top ten and top thirty finishes in his last three outings. Bearing in mind that he has few peers in terms of his course form – his record here reads 5T 99, 1st 03 and 5T 05 – he must be fancied to mount a challenge this week.

PGA TOUR: BMW CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Cog Hill course hosts this event for the third time having formerly been the venue for the Western Open so course form is well established. Last year’s winner Tiger Woods has an excellent record here.

OUTRIGHT : ADAM SCOTT 1 pt win and place 25/1

Last week’s pick Scott did us a good turn in the Deutsche Bank and it may pay to stick with him this week. Poor putting had been his nemesis until recently but, on the basis of last week’s performance, he may have put that behind him as he finished inside the top ten in the putts per GIR stat. A repeat performance this week should see him challenge strongly in an event where he finished fourth in 2007.

OUTRIGHT : MICHAEL SIM 1 pt win and place 100/1

Maintaining our Aussie theme this week the second pick is Sim at generous odds of 100/1. Although he has no track record here he did finish runner up earlier on in the season in the Farmers Insurance event at Torrey Pines, a course which shares similar playing characteristics to Cog Hill. Having hit form recently with two top five finishes plus one top ten in his last five outings he looks ready to record his maiden Tour win.
